Hippolytus-statue Workshop Reloaded
The Hippolytus-statue? Again? Is this scrambled piece of past not a bit too small for a second workshop? (Spoiler: No!) In the second meeting, we will not only provide some fundamental answers to some fundamental questions such as an analysis of the antique fragments, but also open a new avenue. We will shed some light on the ‘dark side’ of the ‘restorer’ and antiquarian: Ligorio, the forger. Not less is at stake than the question: what if this pile of rocks is nothing more than a 16-century scam? The second edition going to be a game changer.
